2019 marked 50 years since Johnny Divall purchased the Lone Pine property at Carrick. This moment marked the beginning of the Divall legacy that continues today.
To celebrate, we put together a commemorative book that explains the story of the people and moments that have made Divall’s the company it is today. Elaborating on the history of the Divall family and business, the book is full of pictures, memories, stories, and characters. It celebrates the growth of the company over three generations and five decades.
You can own a piece of local history for just $50 each. For every book sold, $10 will be donated to the local Towrang Rural Fire Service.
To order your copy please complete the form below, and a member of our reception team will be in contact.
We hope you enjoy reading the Divall’s 50th anniversary book as much as we enjoyed creating it.
Rose recalls a particularly funny incident involving Michael ‘misplacing’ the loader one day on a trip into Goulburn after losing a truck. Rose states: “Two prisoners had broken out of Goulburn jail and had found the loader with the keys in the ignition and used it as their getaway vehicle,” she says. “They could only drive it as far as Marulan because it was getting dark and they couldn’t figure out how to turn on the headlights. So they just left it running on the side of the road”.
With a bit of detective work, Michael and John followed the tracks from the loader, and found it the following day with the keys still in the ignition. Rose states: “Michael drove it back to the quarry and started loading again as if nothing had happened”.
