Retail – Retail Services Certificate II (12 months)

We have an exciting full-time traineeship opportunity for a motivated individual with an interest in gaining “hands on” work experience and technical training as a retail trainee, within our Goulburn Sand and Soil (GSS) Yard.

You will acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to complete the traineeship, together with a view to establishing a career in the retail industry. 

The successful candidate will complete a 12-month traineeship through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience.

We will provide you with ongoing mentoring and support to help you achieve your career goals and unleash your true potential. Your role will expose you to various industry related tasks, whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

It is expected that the candidate will thrive in both an office and outdoor environment. Based in a sand and soil yard, customer service and safety aptitude are critical to this role.

This role would suit an individual who is happy to work in a small team, with a mentor and mentee structure. However, an ability to work effectively & efficiently autonomously is also crucial.

This position will require the candidate to work Monday – Friday, 7am to 5pm. Hours may vary from time to time. Weekend work on a rotating roster will be required.

Typical duties of apprentices include:

  • Apply principles of WHS in the work environment.
  • Carry out excellent customer service on a day-to-day basis.
  • Work efficiently, both in the office and out in the yard.
  • Assist other colleagues with any required tasks.
  • Actively learn product knowledge and yard operation, for the efficient running of GSS.

• Have a high level of attention to detail
• Be committed to the full term of the traineeship
• Have good manual handling techniques and safety focus
• Demonstrate sound customer service skills
• A current driver’s licence is required.
